The Laurels

The LaurelsThe Laurels are an American three-piece band from Providence, Rhode Island. They formed in January 1991. They’re made up of John Masterson (drums), Roger Foley (guitars) and Jeff Toste (bass & vocals) and have known each other for several years from their experience of playing in a number of bands.

The ‘part snarly, part pop trio’ have already had some credible reviews in the US, with regards to both their live and vinyl performances. In fact, their album which was released earlier this year, made the top 100 of ‘Rockpool’, a college radio magazine which reviews bands and their radio airplay.

A 4-track EP on Herapin Records their latest attempt to get people outside of the upper east side of the American coast to take notice. Tours are restricted so they play around Boston, Massachusetts, New York and their home town of Providence. They’d love to play all over the States don’t see that happening unless someone finances the tour.

The Laurels feel they’d be better suited to British label, as their style is, ‘one that might do better outside the US.’ So if you run a record label and are looking for a group who’s style is ‘95% riff oriented’ and one where ‘ chords are almost never used’, then drop them a line!
